Description
Superhope was a film made by Roy Peker that I worked on in the summer of 2018. This film was made with Great Ormond Street Hospital transforming severely ill children into superheroes. This was really fun to work on and was for a great cause. See my reel for my shot.
"A Short Film I made for a super feel good campaign GOSHxSuperHope, SuperHope fulfills the dreams of severely ill children by transforming them into their very own superhero alter-egos. The campaign was done in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital in London." - Quoted from Vimeo Description
Jeep Roto
Description
This is some roto work that I did during my 3rd year of university. I already experience with organic roto so I wanted to practice rotoing some inorganic shapes. I did this in Nuke X.
Forward Roll Roto
Description
This was the my first time rotoscoping. I shot this plate with my friend and then took it into Silhouette 6 to roto him doing a forward roll. You can see my shapes, matte and composite as well as the final colour overlay in the breakdown. I’m quite happy with the result considering the amount of motion blur and the complexity of the movement in this shot.
Manny
Breakdown
Description
This is Manny, a very short project I did comp and clean up work for in the summer of 2018. I worked with a few animators from Escape Studios on this.
Composited by myself
Animation by Harry Pearson
Modelled, Textured & Rigged by Aaron Hopwood
Vivi Ossa
Description
Vivi Ossa (Living Bones) is a project I worked on in my final year of University.
We shot the plates on green screen and then our 3D team members tracked the shots and built a full CG environment. I then used Nuke to key and composite the first shot.
CG Fire Place
Description
This is a piece of work from the first half of the second year of my degree. I had to shoot, track using 3DE, model, texture and light in Maya 2018, using Arnold 5 shaders and render out all the passes I would need to comp.
I then took my renders into Nuke and did full CG rebuild and composite integrating the CG into the back plate.
First did paint work in Nuke using both 2D tracking and projections to remove all of the markers. Then I completed a full CG rebuild using the passes out of Arnold and use colour corrections and various integration techniques to make the fireplace look more realistic.
Breakdown
Castle Comp Project
Description
This piece of work was for the first year of my degree. This was my first attempt at comp work and my first time using Nuke.
Our brief was to take the Warwick castle footage, complete a set extension and then customise it in our own way using images, making sure our customisation composited photo-realistically & seamlessly into the background plate.
I chose to do a sky and set replacement behind and over the castle and add banners to the walls making it seem more fantasy. I could definitely complete this project to a much higher standard now, but am pleased with the outcome for my first ever attempt at compositing and my first time ever using Nuke.
Original Plate
iPod Classic Model
Description
This was my first attempt at a realistic 3D model. It was for the 3D VFX module of my course, out brief was to create a photo realistic model of something mechanical or man made. I used Maya 2017 to create this model and then used Photoshop to create texture maps and then Arnold 4 to texture and render my work.
Abstract Animation
Description
This was the second piece of work I produced in Maya. This is a piece of work I created for the animation module in the first year of my degree. Our brief was to create an abstract animation in time to music using Maya.
